These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the online services operated by Omar Rihani (“we”, “us”, “our”), including:

By creating an account or using any of these Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Voktera personal dashboard (https://app.voktera.com)

Description

Voktera is a personal dashboard for tracking nutrition, workouts, goals, tasks, and related health information. The dashboard is provided as a website and installable progressive web app (PWA). Features may change over time.

The dashboard is free. We do not process payments through it today.

Accounts

• You need an account (email sign-in) to use most dashboard features.
• You must provide a valid email address and keep it secure.
• You are responsible for activity under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the dashboard.
• Do not share your account or use another person’s account without permission.

Health and nutrition disclaimer

The dashboard is not medical advice. Nutrition estimates, label scanning (OCR), calorie calculations, and health summaries are for personal informational use only. They may be incomplete or inaccurate. Always review scanned label data before saving. Consult a qualified professional for diet, health, or fitness decisions.

Label scanning (OCR)

When you scan a label photo, OCR runs on your device and the image is not uploaded. When you paste text, you provide that text directly. OCR results are suggestions — you must verify them before relying on them.

UoG Degree Planner (https://uni.voktera.com)

Description

UoG Degree Planner helps you plan and visualize University of Guelph degree requirements. You can use it without an account (data stays in your browser) or sign in to save plans in the cloud and create share links.

The planner is free. We do not process payments through it.

Accounts

• An account is optional. Cloud save and share links require sign-in (Google or email magic link).
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for activity under your account.

Not official university advice

The planner is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the University of Guelph. Program requirements are scraped from the public undergraduate calendar on a best-effort basis and may be incomplete or outdated. You are solely responsible for verifying your degree requirements with the official calendar and academic advisors before making enrollment decisions.

Share links

If you make a plan public, anyone with the link can view it in read-only mode. Do not share links containing information you want to keep private. You can stop sharing by deleting the plan or revoking public access.

Acceptable use (all Services)

You agree not to:

• Use any Service for any illegal purpose.
• Upload malware, attempt to hack or disrupt our systems, or bypass security.
• Scrape, reverse engineer, or overload our systems without permission (except normal use of publicly served catalog data in the planner).
• Harass others or upload content that infringes someone else’s rights.
• Use the dashboard to provide medical advice to others or as a substitute for professional care.
• Abuse share links to distribute harmful, illegal, or harassing content.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Your content

• You own the content you enter (logs, foods, workouts, tasks, degree plans, etc.).
• You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content only to operate the Services for you.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter.

Our intellectual property

Our software, design, branding, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not give you ownership of our code or trademarks. “Voktera” and related marks are ours.

Course and program catalog data in the planner is derived from the University of Guelph’s public calendar; respective rights remain with their owners.

Third-party services and links

Our Services rely on third parties (for example Supabase, Vercel, and Google for planner sign-in) and may link to external sites. We are not responsible for third-party services or websites.

Payments and refunds

Our Services are currently offered without charge. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will update these Terms and provide applicable billing terms.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost (though we use reasonable safeguards).

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

• WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL.
• OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (TYPICALLY CAD $0) OR (B) CAD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Services, your content, or your violation of these Terms, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Termination

• You may stop using any Service at any time and request account deletion (see our Privacy Policy).
• We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue a Service.
• Sections that by nature should survive (disclaimers, liability limits, governing law) will survive termination.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that courts located in Ontario, Canada have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except where consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where reasonable. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
